Having just released her brilliant sophomore album ‘Feeding Seahorses By Hand’ earlier this year, Billie Marten has now lent her exquisite voice to emerging singer-songwriter Sonny Santos’ new single ‘swear 2 g-d’, lifted from his forthcoming debut album.
Recorded and mixed at London’s Urchin Studios by award winning engineer Dan Cox (Laura Marling, Lianne La Havas) and featuring Matt Ingram and Nick Pini of Laura Marling’s band on drums and bass, ‘ swear 2 g-d’ sees the pair harmonise with a rare and exceptional chemistry that very few could imitate. With both vocalists working in tandem throughout the track, the pair create a warm and otherworldly aesthetic that transcends the soul that either could have achieved alone.
Raised between London and New York, Sonny Santos has always felt like a man caught in the middle of life, moving back and forth with continuous repetition. This unique perspective has been the driving force behind his eagerly awaited debut album ‘Hotel de Londres’, which will capture the feeling of his transient childhood and deliver a collection of heart-warming yet insecure cuts when it arrives later this year.
