ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No. 29 Solo 45

While the grime scene had fallen out of popular and commercial favour sometime in the last few years, we have seen the genre make a roaring comeback in the last 18 months, most notably with the introduction of newcomer Novelist. But now it looks like the minnows of the scene are also growing in image, especially Solo 45.

As an original member of the Boy Better Know collective, which has already spawned many successful solo MCs like JME, Skepta and Wiley, Solo 45 had been a background character for much of his career thus far. But thanks to a collaboration with exceptional producer Prediath on his latest single 'Feed Em To The Lions', Solo 45 could become one of the biggest names for 2015.

With its raw and uncompromising sound, 'Feed Em To The Lions' is an instant grime classic. Taking the rough and aggressive side to the genre and adding an extremely catchy hook, and you've got one of the most enthralling grime anthems since Lethal Bizzle's 'Pow'.

And with commercial backing thanks to a new signing with Island Records, this is an artist who we haven't heard the last of yet.
