With rising stars such as George The Poet and Kate Tempest bringing musical poetry to a wider audience, the Australian Sampa The Great is looking to continue that positive momentum to become one of this year's most provocative social commentators.
After delivering her debut release 'The Great Mixtape' at the end of last year, the frontwoman has amassed a devout following, thanks to her eccentric productions and diverse influences. Her mix of jazz and hip-hop flow sounds like the coming together of FKA Twigs and Ghostpoet, and is something truly unmistakable.
Now marching into 2016, Sampa has returned with her latest single 'Blue Boss'. A slow burner at the start, but is slowly growing into one of this year's most in-demand new tracks, 'Blue Boss' is as engaging as it is unique in both its use of instrumentation and vocal dexterity.
