Charli XCX, Neneh Cherry & more added to Bestival line-up

Following the criticism Reading & Leeds received for their lack of female artists on this year's line-up, Bestival have responded by unveiling an all female update to this year's festivities.

Charli XCX (pictured), Neneh Cherry, Lianne La Havas, Honeyblood, Ella Eyre and more have all been added to this year's bill, and will join headliners The Chemical Brothers, Underworld and Duran Duran when the festival returns to the Isle Of Wight from the 10th-13th September.

Organiser Rob Da Bank stated, “Well whaddya know? There are shedloads of amazing people making some startlingly good music at the moment… from pop to leftfield, soul to hip-hop and some ace DJs too, and look, lots of them are female! Whatever next?

“Joking aside, I'm really proud to announce the next wave of talent for Bestival - from pop starlets Charli XCX and Ella Eyre, to the legendary Neneh Cherry, and so many good new indie bands like Jagaara, Honeyblood and Girlpool. We're also raving away at Bestival HQ to the latest mixes from leading lights of the DJ scene, B Traits, Monki and Moxie. I cannot wait for September now - see you there!”
