Getting To Know... Gabriel Audee

Mexico-born, Colorado-raised, NYC-based pop innovator Gabriel Audee returns with his most urgent and expansive release yet in ‘DICHOTOMY (The Chosen Ones)’, a genre-blurring collaboration with Lil Dee and Saule Ilona Vaida. The track sees Audee pushing deeper into his self-defined role as a “pop architect,” crafting a cinematic, emotionally charged anthem that fuses indie-pop, trap, and alternative influences.

Built around a foundation by producer JRum and elevated through layered instrumentation, ‘DICHOTOMY (The Chosen Ones)’ unfolds as both a sonic statement and a call to awareness. Saule Ilona Vaida’s luminous vocal hook contrasts with Lil Dee’s sharp, confident rap verse, creating a dynamic interplay that drives the track’s intensity and message.

So with the new single out now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

Piano!

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Mainstream pop!

What was the first album you remember owning?

Rihanna’s LOUD

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

All I want for Christmas is you - them royalties!

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

I reflect on the state of the world and collective’s consciousness.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

No one - Everyone in pop is releasing the same music with meaningless lyrics -I feel inspired by my team of producers and instrumentalists whom I’m maki by my album with.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

I write all my songs - but I don’t always sing them. When people go to a concert for the main act it’s because they like the songs - they don’t care about who wrote them. But my brand possibly matches the best with songwriters or artists who don’t tour themselves. But if I had to pick one. I’d pick to open for OneRepublic, Maroon 5, Sabrina Carpenter, Frank Ocean.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

When other people understand the urgency of the message.

And what is the most frustrating part?

When curators skip and skim through the song!

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Critique is important - but if you love your song, keep loving it!
