What has been the most prominent inspiration behind your music so far?

I’d say it’s an ensemble and not only one specific thing. The balance between my roots, what I want to play in concerts and what I’ve been living and feeling.

What kind of music did you love as a teenager?

I remember spending all my afternoons listening to UK bands like The Verve, Oasis, Gorillaz, The Beatles - rock music was pretty much the only thing I was listening to. Then a few months later I discovered all French electronic music movement : Daft Punk, Ed Banger, it was a game changer for me.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

It was the guitar!

What inspires you to make music?

I like to think of my music as chapters. Especially when I’m working on a multitrack project where each song defines a specific feeling or interpretation of a main theme. I like to use metaphors and not be too literal with my music.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

I really loved the new Knapsack album, also Zes & Montell2099 who are crazy talented artists!

How many of your songs have you written about people in your life?

I’d say about half of them.

What has been the most unusual moment in your career so far?

I’d say the time I was booked to pay a show for a school in France. I thought this would be a crowd packed full of drunk students so I wanted to open with some Skrillex and my selection was filled with bangers. Turned out it was a fancy event with all the student’s parents and professors, and I didn’t have a single chill song - 1 hour of pain.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Opening for Porter Robinson would be crazy, his fanbase is amazing.

If you weren’t a musician, what other path do you think you might have taken?

I’d be living next to the coast, surfing and working as a bartender.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Learn the difference between making music for labels and music for the people.
