What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

My first memories of music are singing along to songs with my mum as a kid, so I’d have to say the voice was the first instrument that resonated with me. There’s something so natural about it that has always made me feel connected with something larger than myself.

What was the first album you remember owning?

I was very open to all kinds of music but the first album I owned was Avril Lavigne’s ‘Let Go,’ I used to blast “I’m with You” on my walkman whilst walking around my back garden in the rain thinking I was very much the main character.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

That’s such a tough question, there are so many. Yesterday by The Beatles is definitely up there.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

I consume enough caffeine to turn me into an anxious wreck and that’s when I know I’m about ready to start.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

At the moment I’ve been listening to a lot of radiohead, spill tab, dijon, slowdive & jazz classics.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Billie Eilish, her shows look wild!

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

The most rewarding part is having this liberating form of expression that has the ability to change someone’s mood or day or life, even.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Treat people with kindness and be honest with what you’re creating.
