What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

Guitar

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Country music has always been my first love.

What was the first album you remember owning?

Probably the Hannah Montana Movie soundtrack. I was a massive fan but that’s how I discovered Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Will You Love Me Tomorrow by Carole King

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

It depends if I’m writing with other people or by myself but I find that a massive cup coffee helps inspiration flow. If I’m writing by myself I usually light some candles and bring out my favorite guitar.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

I really love Laci Kaye Booth and Masie Peters. They are both such good writers as well.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

I would love to open for Kip Moore, he has always been one of my favorite performers. I think it goes without saying that Taylor Swift will also share the top spot on my list as she’s the reason I started writing.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

I think for me it’s when people tell me they can relate to my songs or that they helped them in some way.

And what is the most frustrating part?

I think a lot of times it can be a bit frustrating when hard work doesn’t always guarantee something will work out but then again, I try to make that frustration turn into motivation.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

One of my first mentors told me to make sure I have a “village” - a team of people I can trust and that I know will be there rain or shine because this industry is full of ups and downs. It’s important to have people who will always be supportive and give honest feedback, when needed. Because sometimes… you need someone to tell you the box dye red hair and fringe was no.
