Joe Goddard announces new EP 'Kinetic'

Hot off the heels of a prolific 2023 that saw the release of both his third solo album 'Harmonics' and the collaborative 'Neptunes' EP with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Joe Goddard is back with more. The Hot Chip co-founder has announced 'Kinetic'—a five-track EP set to land digitally on the 9th May. Leaning further into the dancefloor, 'Kinetic' offers a club-focused pivot that draws from the vibrant pulse of UK garage, jungle, and bass-heavy electronica.

With 'Kinetic', Goddard brings together a thrilling lineup of collaborators, including Dynamite MC, SUKU of Ward 21, and South London’s own Pinty. The EP bursts with the same vitality that’s defined his recent DJ sets. “This EP focuses on the club more than my album Harmonics did,” Goddard explains. “Working with MCs like Dynamite, SUKU and Pinty was a real pleasure as I have been a fan of all of them for many years. Seeing the resurgence of UK garage recently it felt like a good moment to work in that genre again as it has always been so close to my heart.”

The first taste of 'Kinetic' arrives with the release of 'Image and Style', a bass-driven heater featuring both Dynamite MC and SUKU. Channelling flecks of jungle and classic garage rhythms, it delivers “windows down, systems up” energy—perfectly timed for the return of summer.

Have a listen to 'Image And Style' in the player and see the EP's full tracklisting below.

1. Image and Style featuring SUKU of Ward 21 and Dynamite MC
2. Ace featuring Pinty
3. Flex featuring SUKU of Ward 21
4. Buffy featuring Technology + Teamwork
5. Hold Me Tight (Joe Goddard x ABSOLUTE.)
