Veteran New York singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Newman looks towards the people and moments that never completely leave us on his reflective new single ‘Ghosts’.
Throughout his new release, he uses ghosts as a metaphor for the memory of the relationships, places, mistakes and happier moments that continue quietly shaping us long after they've disappeared from everyday life.
That sense of looking backwards without becoming trapped there runs through the track's organic, guitar-driven rock sound. His seasoned vocals and expressive guitar work give ‘Ghosts’ a warm quality, allowing its reflections on regret, growth and resilience to take centre stage.
Written by Newman alongside Michael Mills, the single features Naomi Margolin on guitar and vocals, John Cardone on bass and vocals, and Shawn Murray on drums and percussion. Newman also produced the track with Fred Guarino, with recording taking place at Tiki Recording in Glen Cove, New York.
