The Sherlocks - 'World I Understand'

7/10

Ever since they first emerged with their energetic debut album 'Live For The Moment' in 2017, British indie-rockers The Sherlocks have worked hard to build a strong and driven sound that both pays homage to the traditional angles of the scene, while also giving us something fresh to enjoy about them. Their driven passionate for bold hooks and blistering pace has become a signature sound these last few years, and now they return with their third studio album 'World I Understand', a record that continues that soaring form they are known for.

From the start, 'World I Understand' looks to pursue a broader and more cacophonous direction. Throughout the years, the band have found themselves performing on bigger and bigger stages, so it only makes sense that they would churn out a batch of anthemic offerings to suit their newfound place on international festival circuits. And while the formula for their style hasn't changed much in these five years, they are still able to produce something well-rounded and exciting from start to finish, cementing them as one of the UK's more focused outfits.

Fans of their older work will obviously lap this up, 'but 'World I Understand' still has a very inviting and commercially appealing edge to it. Ferocious and powerful at every chance, these guys are not ready to slow down just yet.
