WENNICK announces debut EP

WENNINK is a project by London based singer and writer Oliver Wennink (produced by dance music producer/DJ Matt Allaby) which encapsulates his own brand of fragile piano-synth electronica.

The debut EP 'WENNINK' was born out of long days and nights in his studio in Brixton. The influences you can hear threaded through the music are Thom Yorke/Atoms For Peace, Four Tet, James Blake and Fink. These influences helped form the glitchy percussion, the spacious ambience, the fragility of the overall sound, the underpinned melancholy and the beautifully rich vocals which reference a love of the male tenor vocalists like Jeff Buckley and Antony and The Johnsons.

There’s a real gem alternative pop single in the track 'Hard And Square'; wonderfully reflective stillness in stand out song 'Mirrors' which builds into a crescendo filled with violent sparks and 'Backwards' is a beautifully crafted song that grabs you from the start with it's central driving rhythm and a chorus of glistening harmonies that makes you want to rewind and listen over and over again.

The quixotic songs deal with fear, love and escape all glued together with lush evocative vocals, layered production, sparse electronics together with the added element of silence at play.
