BBC Four to show documentary on Kraftwerk's Tate Modern residency

In 2013, Kraftwerk's retrospective residency at the Tate Modern was the hottest ticket in town. Eight one-off shows, each dedicated to one of the band's eight studio albums, aimed to bring together the idea of live performance and art exhibitions with the use of 3D images, each uniquely constructed for every show.

Now BBC Four will air a documentary of what happened in the lead up to these groundbreaking performances. Using a mixture of audience feedback, band interviews and archive material, the programme will look to dissect how the stage shows came about and what the general consensus behind them was.

‘Kraftwerk: Pop Art’ will air on Friday 30th January at 10pm on BBC Four. You can also watch the trailer for it in the player below.
