Dayglow - 'Harmony House'

8/10

While his debut album 'Fuzzybrain' in 2019 was well-received but largely unnoticed by the mainstream, a lot has happened to 21-year-old singer and producer Sloan Struble aka Dayglow since then. His breakout hit 'Can I Call You Tonight?' went viral in the preceding months, generating hundreds of millions of streams for the young artist, and cementing him as an act we should all be keeping an eye on. And now he returns with his highly-anticipated sophomore LP 'Harmony House', a record that sees him stake a claim to international pop dominance.

From what we heard in the build-up to this new collection, it was clear that 'Harmony House' was going to be a fresh and vibrant affair, and he certainly hasn't disappointed there. Channelling a broad and enticing mix of psych-pop and indie-pop eccentricities throughout the new release, Dayglow's sound has evolved into something truly uplifting. Almost sounding like the mind of Hall & Oates in the body of Phoenix, it has this insatiably catchy and textured direction to it that aims to do nothing but show the listener a fun and exciting time throughout.

Dayglow is still very much a name on the rise right now, but with music this enjoyable, it shouldn't be long before we find rubbing shoulders with the big dogs and watching him grow into the pop icon he is thoroughly deserving to be.
