Mystery Jets share new single 'Soul River'

London favourites Mystery Jets have unveiled ‘Soul River’, a poignant new release taken from their forthcoming seventh studio album 'A Hole To See The Sky Through', due for release on the 21st August via Fiction Records.

Offering a very different perspective to the record’s previously released material, ‘Soul River’ is an emotionally rich tribute inspired by the memory of a beloved member of the band’s Eel Pie Island community. Written in honour of a close friend whose life ended tragically, the song reflects on remembrance, loss, and the lasting impact a person can leave behind.

Across its expansive runtime, Mystery Jets deliver one of their most heartfelt compositions in recent years, combining elegant melodies with deeply reflective songwriting. The track highlights the band’s ability to tackle difficult subject matter with sensitivity while maintaining the warmth and humanity that have long defined their work.

The release offers another glimpse into 'A Hole To See The Sky Through', an album shaped by themes of healing, perspective, redemption, and personal growth. Recorded with acclaimed producer Leo Abrahams, the project marks the latest chapter in a career that has seen Mystery Jets continually evolve while remaining one of Britain’s most distinctive alternative bands.
