While it has now been ten years since Nick Oliveri left his formative band Queens Of The Stone Age, the bassist has found himself working on a variety of projects to help keep his creative side at bay. But this year we are being treated to a rare solo album from the artist who has already shown himself to be a bit of a chameleon when it comes to musical endeavours.

As a solo album, this is obviously a more personal and controlled record than any of his other projects, but that hasn't stopped him from pulling out all the stops and delivering another hellfire of a record. 'Leave Me Alone' has this minimal quality to its production, despite being so in your face and abrasive. You can tell that Oliveri is very much the focus of this full-length as his voice and instrumentation overwhelms the rhythm section with such aplomb as the album moves from one punk-charged anthem to the next.

But despite how much you can enjoy it at the start, it does begin to tire by the end as the lack of variety does hinder its capability of staying engaging. Effectively, this is one long attempt at balls to the wall rock that never really lets up, making it a very exhausting listen.
