Sports Team return with new single 'Happy (God's Own Country)'

Following on from the enormous praise behind their Mercury Prize-nominated debut album 'Deep Down Happy' last year, Sports Team have now returned to share a brand new single.

The new track 'Happy (God's Own Country)' is their first piece of new material since their initial LP, and will form part of the limited edition b-sides & rarities vinyl 'Plant Press', which will be only made available at independent retailers in the UK.

Speaking about the new offering, the band said, “We recorded this at the end of last year at a time when it was hard not to feel exhausted by the scale of insincerity everywhere. It’s a sort of Cold War Steve collage, a cut and paste diorama of cronyism, cottagecore and window-dressed Toryism, with the frustrated energy of live performance without a stage.”
