The Amazons - 'How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?'

7/10

Since their emergence with their barnstorming self-titled debut LP in 2017, The Amazons have looked to inject a much-needed dose of vigour within the fledgling indie-rock scene in recent years. Their broad and expansive approach to the genre has brought them enormous praise and acclaim, with their sophomore outing 'Future Dust' seeing them adopt a more raucous energy, thus propelling their direction forward to boot. Now after a few years away due to the pandemic, they return with their third studio album 'How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?', a record that looks to continue their confident guise to date.

Much like what we have heard throughout their tenure so far, 'How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?' aims for more of that rich and euphoric energy they have looked to produce. Rather than rest of their laurels with another round of simple anthemic offerings, this new collection sees them grow warmer within their skin and unload a heady dose of vibrant cuts from start to finish. Packed with huge, stadium-filling delights that push their aesthetic to its outer reaches, they have returned with possibly their most euphoric release to date, showing that they are readying themselves for bigger stages to come.

Although not much has changed for them sonically between this and their previous material, 'How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?' is another glittering entry in their positive ascent to date. Brimming with fresh and inventive ideas throughout, they are maintaining their reputation for bold and engaging songwriting once again.
