ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No. 210 Kate Teague

Having already kicked off the year in style with the release of singles 'Good To You' and 'Low Life', Mississippi's Kate Teague continues her stunning form as she returns with her latest single 'Gilly'.

Channelling a strong yacht-meets-slacker rock vibe, with solid inspirations from Fleetwood Mac, the new track sees her in far more personal light. Written for a friend to help her get through a hard time, the song still manages to hang onto a universal quality, which can be attributed to the singer's engaging songwriting style.

Speaking about 'Gilly', she said, “A loved one of mine was going through a difficult time while living away from most of her friends/family. I wrote this in an effort to make sense of the pain she was experiencing, and to console her considering I couldn’t be there for her in person.”

Kate Teague is set to release her debut album through Muscle Beach Records early next year, and you can check out 'Gilly' in the player below.
