ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No. 227 machineheart

Having spent the last five years honing and developing their sound, LA-based outfit machineheart are finally on the cusp of releasing their long-awaited debut album 'People Change', a record that looks to bring some gusto to the rather fledgling pop scene.

Channeling a diverse array of influences including Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac and Lana Del Rey, the band's latest single 'Let You Down' manages to encapsulate the soaring power of their songwriting with an emotional bed of sombre and heartfelt lyrics. Co-produced by Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys), the group have a raw yet humble sound that really gives them a lift in this overcrowded environment.

“Things happened really quickly,”, says drummer Harrison Allen. “But it came down to the four of us saying, ‘This doesn’t feel authentic. 'People Change' is a full expression of what we wanted it to be.”

Their debut album 'People Change', which also includes the recent tracks 'Do You Love' and 'Overgrown' is set to arrive on the 8th February and you can check out the new video for 'Let You Down' in the player below.
