ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.370 - amy michelle

After developing her sound and style watching her Dad play Irish trad music, and seeing her granny’s eye-catching and striking interest in fashion and beauty, Irish singer and songwriter amy michelle is now introducing herself to the world with her tranquil debut single 'the bottom of the well'.

With an aesthetic that is already earning comparisons to the likes of Phoebe Bridgers and Elliott Smith, 'the bottom of the well' makes for a rousing introduction to her sound. Using little more than a sombre guitar, ethereal production, and her own calming voice at the helm, she has delivered a song that instantly resonates as soon as you hear it, and showcases some incredible potential for her in the near future.

'the bottom of the well' is the first track to be lifted from her forthcoming debut EP, due early next year, which aims to tackle the big questions (mortality, faith, mental health, the existential) with her own intimate, Gen Z touch.
