North West London singer-songwriter Reem Mitten has released her powerful new single 'Back to The Start Of It' — a sweeping, emotionally-charged track that showcases her towering vocals and evocative songwriting. Produced by Dave McCracken (Depeche Mode, Florence + The Machine) and mixed by Darren Heelis (Sam Smith, Alicia Keys), the song marks a bold step forward in Mitten’s rapidly rising career.
Drawing on sonic influences like Fiona Apple, Florence + The Machine, and The War On Drugs, the track layers lush instrumentation with a haunting sense of longing. With its soaring melodies and cinematic scope, 'Back to The Start Of It' arrives as both a personal reckoning and an artistic statement.
“I wrote ‘Back to the Start of it’ from a voyeuristic point of view, with elements of anger and reflection,” says Mitten. “It’s a snapshot of the make-or-break point of a relationship — ‘How did we get here, and how do we go back to the way it was?’”
The track has already received early support from BBC Radio’s Jess Iszatt, and follows the release of her striking short film 'Ceilings', unveiled earlier this year. Recent tour support slots with Swim Deep, Bill Ryder-Jones, and Phoebe Green have also introduced her magnetic presence to new audiences, with further live dates to be announced soon.
