Billie Marten has unveiled 'Swing', the fourth track from her highly-anticipated fifth album 'Dog Eared', out 18th July via Fiction Records. Following the reflective tones of previous singles 'Crown', 'Feeling', and 'Leap Year', 'Swing' bursts out with bold colour as an upbeat, no-holds-barred track that offers a playful and unexpected turn in the record’s emotional journey.
Inspired by Meat Puppets and The Breeders, 'Swing' is a free-spirited collision of crunchy guitar, hyperactive percussion, and an unapologetically loud bassline. It captures the energy of Marten’s open-door sessions in New York, where spontaneity and collaboration were the guiding forces.
“I wanted it to sound like the Meat Puppets meets The Breeders,” Billie says. “I think we got pretty close without sharing any influences in the studio.”
