Car Seat Headrest unveil new single 'CCF (I’m Gonna Stay With You)'

Car Seat Headrest continue the support for 'The Scholars', their first studio album in five years, due out on the 2nd May. Described as a bold rock opera, the record is set in the fictional world of Parnassus University and explores themes of life, death, and rebirth through the eyes of its student and faculty characters.

The band now unveil the album’s soaring opener 'CCF (I’m Gonna Stay With You)', which premiered via Huw Stephens on BBC 6 Music. Accompanied by a visual featuring illustrations by cartoonist Cate Wurtz, the video introduces characters from across the The Scholars’ sprawling conceptual landscape.

The track centres on Beolco, a student who believes he is spiritually connected—or possibly the reincarnation—of Parnassus’ long-deceased founder, a playwright known as the Scop. “He yearns for confirmation of this secret belief,” the band explain, hinting at the narrative richness to come throughout the album.
