Coruja Jones - 'Undo'

8/10

When he originally broke through with his much-loved debut EP 'The Crossing' back in 2020, Manchester-based singer-songwriter Coruja Jones established himself as one of the more passionate names arriving on the scene. Since then he has moved from strength to strength, developing more of that warm and heartfelt lyricism he has quirked earned a reputation for. And after another flurry of impactful offerings these last few months, he is back once again with his latest EP 'Undo', a collection brimming with more of that rich and tender emotion throughout.

Keeping much in the same vein he explored on his earlier material, 'Undo' looks to conjure some beautifully sweet and lofty textures as it plays. Keeping the production as stripped-back as possible, allowing his spellbinding vocals to take centre stage, this new five-track offering finds him in a wonderful progressive guise throughout. Harnessing yet more powerful and provocative songwriting across the length of this new EP, Coruja Jones continues to cement himself as one of the more passionate names rising through the ranks right now.

While plenty has already been said about his captivating endeavours of late, 'Undo' shows there is still plenty of inventive spirit coursing through him right now. Making light work of its riveting ascent throughout, he is definitely a name we need to keep a firm eye on for the future as well.
