The Cribs drop new single 'Never The Same'

The Cribs have unveiled 'Never The Same', the final preview of their new album 'Selling A Vibe', due out this Friday 9th January. Marking their first full-length project in over five years, the LP has already generated buzz with singles 'Summer Seizures' and 'A Point Too Hard To Make', with the latter earning a coveted spot on the BBC 6 Music A-list.

'Never The Same' captures a sense of emotional reckoning, built on the band’s signature sharp songwriting and tight, minimalist structure. Described by Ryan Jarman as a “streamlined” return to their raw, early approach, the track explores themes of change, nostalgia, and the lingering pull of a chaotic past.

The song was written in Wakefield immediately after the band returned from Louis Tomlinson’s ‘Away From Home’ festival in Italy, initially with the idea of pitching it for Tomlinson’s next album. But its energy and immediacy kept it in The Cribs’ hands.

A self-directed video, shot on 8mm film during their recent U.S. tour, accompanies the release, offering a grainy, DIY snapshot of the band’s on-the-road life, created entirely by Ryan and Gary Jarman. Watch it in the player below.
