Freddie Mercury biopic now confirmed

The film is due to star Ben Whishaw in the leading role

Ben Whishaw, best known for playing Q in 'Skyfall' and 'Spectre', has replaced the expected Sasha Baron Cohen in the lead role, and is also due to feature Johnny Flynn as Queen drummer Roger Taylor and Gemma Arterton as Mercury’s longtime partner Mary Austin.

'The Theory Of Everything' writer Anthony McCarten is also due to pen the script with production expected to start next summer.
