After establishing himself with a string of impactful offerings throughout the last few months, fast-rising artist Andrew Flynn is back to his vibrant best once again as he delivers the wondrous new single 'True Love Is Inside You'.
Bringing back more of that rich and euphoric pop-rock energy he is known for, 'True Love Is Inside You' makes for a brilliantly bold and anthemic listen. With his warm and shimmering vocal performance layered across a compelling production from start to finish, he continues his ascent as one of the more passionate names on the rise right now.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most in recent times.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
When I was a kid, I really wanted to learn how to play the violin, however there were no spaces available at school, so I started to learn how to play the cello. I kept it up for a good while too but carrying the thing too and from school was interesting as it was bigger than I was.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I was in love with musical theatre. I would listen to Miss Saigon, Cats, Blood Brothers, Les Mis plus many more soundtracks in my bedroom, and I would get lost in the narrative of their love stories. The vocalists were all so amazing and really aspired to be able to sing like them. I would love to do a musical one day.
What was the first album you remember owning?
The first album I ever owned was Erasure, The Innocents released in 1988, I especially loved the track “Ship of Fools” as the tonality of his voice and the lyrics were just so rich.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Bury a Friend by Billie Eilish, what an amazing piece of work it is, in fact that is one of the main inspirations for my next track “Parasite” due out in the summer.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
My process is quite interesting. Most of my melodies have come to me while in the shower, I’ll be just jamming away as I am showering, True Love Is Inside You came to me in the shower. Then I use WhatsApp and record the melody and build it out from there. I then use a drum loop when I am playing around with hooks and songwriting, then I develop the story and message for the lyrics.
I have so many underdeveloped songs already written, and they are my catalogue for possible future projects. Once I get a shower melody delivery, of course.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
I love Delta Goodrem’s new single Hearts on the run, Kelly Clarkson’s new album (and her old stuff) Lorren, Kim Petras, Jessie Ware, Ellie Goulding, Celine Dion, Steps and Kylie are all on my recently played list right now.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
What a hard question to answer, I think any of the above would be amazing, but also someone like Erasure or Steps as they would be a fun, camp, energetic crowd for sure.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Releasing music that has come from inside of my creative mind and soul, it’s quite a surreal and amazing feeling. Music for me is all about emotion and what it evokes for the listener. I know if I write from a place of authenticity, vulnerability and pour emotion into the performance, those emotions are then locked within that piece of music forever.
And what is the most frustrating part?
The amount of scams that I have seen aimed at indie artists, all the fake promotion companies selling bots, trying to navigate authentic spaces for musicians can and has been a challenge. I have learned the hard way not to interact with unsolicited social messages.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Miracles don’t often happen, just work hard to create good music. Don’t wait for someone to offer something life-altering, do the hard work yourself you will build more resilience and learn far more that way.
