Following on from his much-loved LP 'BACKDOORBOYS' last year, Detroit-based rapper Blakery is back on the grind once again to deliver his breezy new single 'GRACE'.

Honing more of that smooth and invigorating aesthetic he is known for, 'GRACE' makes for a brilliantly bold and immersive listen. With his progressive flow layered across a vibrant production from start to finish, he returns to the fold with one of his most impactful efforts to date here.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

The Piano

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Hip-Hop and Pop

What was the first album you remember owning?

Goblin-Tyler The Creator

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Save Me- XXXTENTACION

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

I scavenge through every beat I have or new beats I’ve bookmarked. Once I find something I like I write until the song is complete. After that I recite the lyrics a few times. This can take an hour or 6 hours, depending on how invested I am in making the song.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

Playboi Carti, Lil Durk, Kanye West

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Kanye West

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

The social interactions from fans worldwide who wouldn’t know you exist unless you were a musician.

And what is the most frustrating part?

Accepting criticism but realising that it’s ultimately up to you to make the final decisions, in some cases.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Your voice is very unique, use that to your advantage.
