What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

Lou: Guitar.

Jadeyn: Piano.

What was the first song that inspired you to make your own music?

Lou: I would say ‘It’s all over now baby blue’ by Bob Dylan. I think Bob Dylan’s stuff was the first songwriting I really fell in love with, and that’s what made me want to do it myself. Also my dad is a songwriter too so it was always something I was going to gravitate toward and he encouraged me to do and stick with.

Jadeyn: I grew up watching my mother write and record music and I remember being so fascinated with the writing process from a very young age. I wrote my first song when I was 8 after sitting in a writing session my mother had just had!

What kind of music did you love as a teenager?

Lou: I went through a phase where I went away from pop music. I listened to anything from John Mayer to Radiohead to Frank Ocean and more.

Jadeyn: My playlist as a teenager was filled with a lot of Lana Del Rey and Adele.

What do you find is the best environment to find inspiration for your music?

The most important thing for us as opposed to it being about a physical environment is that we are in an environment without too many distractions and where we are able to maintain our inspiration.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

Noah Cyrus, Diplo, Labrinth to name a few!

How many of your songs have you written about people in your life?

We draw a lot from our own experiences and relationships while we write together. Especially during this past year, we’ve had a lot to reflect on and definitely had a lot of material to draw from within our personal life.

What has been the most unusual moment in your career so far?

We share this one with everyone in the world, but the pandemic certainly has been a huge adjustment for us creatively and actively as musicians, and pretty much moving our entire career online; whether that be doing writing sessions or live streams!

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Hard to choose one. Justin Timberlake would be insane!

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Often the person who succeeds is just the last one standing. Stick at it.
