After spending much of last year turning out a wealth of shimmering delights, emerging artist Vimbai-Rose continues her vibrant ascent with the release of her dazzling new EP 'SILVA LINING'.
Featuring the previously shared gem 'Different Chapter', this new five-track collection makes for a brilliantly absorbing listen. Jam-packed with smooth and alluring textures, a sweeping atmosphere, and her own sultry vocals at the helm, 'SILVA LINING' establishes her as one of the more passionate names on the rise right now.
So with the new EP available to stream now, we sat down with her to find out more about her background and what has been inspiring her recently.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
PIANO.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
REGGAE, INDIE ROCK AND R&B.
What was the first album you remember owning?
BEN HOWARD - EVERY KINGDOM.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
SADE - LIKE A TATTOO.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
I LIKE TO WRITE MUSIC DURING THE DAY, IT MAINLY STARTS WITH A MELODIC FREESTYLE AND THEN I FOLLOW UP WITH LYRICS.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
QENDRESA, TYuS, OJERIME, JOE JAMES. I ALSO FIND MYSELF REVISITING MUSIC FROM THE 90’s AND 2000’s.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
ERYKAH BADU.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
BEING ABLE TO MAKE SENSE OF A SITUATION THROUGH SOUNDS AND WORDS AND RELATING TO PEOPLE IN A WAY THEY DIDN’T KNOW WAS POSSIBLE.
And what is the most frustrating part?
CREATING AMAZING MUSIC AND IT NOT BEING HEARD OR RECEIVED IN THE WAY YOU’D HOPED.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
DON'T BE AFRAID TO FAIL OR MAKE MISTAKES. THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR GROWTH. AND ALWAYS BE WILLING TO LEARN.
