Having spent much of the last two decades as the underground's favourite indie dance act, !!! aka chk chk chk have returned to deliver their latest studio album and it is clear from the start that they haven't lost that dancefloor-friendly feel about themselves. With funky bass guitars and disco guitar licks aplenty, the sound of !!! has never looked to change throughout their near 20 year career and that is something to truly admire.

At the end of the day, the Californian six-piece aren't interested in anything apart from keeping you dancing, and this new album does exactly that. Taking on a more cohesive sound that some of their previous full-lengths, 'As If' seems to play like an unending mixtape, with a constant pace and rhythm running throughout the record. It has this incredible addictive flow to it and is the kind of album you'd stick on at a house party to really keep the night alive.

I would be very surprised if anyone couldn't find something to like about this album. It has such an inoffensive approach that practically everyone could find it enjoyable. A marvellous return from this funk stalwarts.
