Indiana Bradley - 'Canticles Of Los Angeles'

7/10

Ever since he first emerged, US artist Indiana Bradley has always had this familiar yet distinctive direction to his work. Largely described as a Johnny Cash-meets-Fugazi entity on the scene, these last few months have been scattered with a flurry of high-profile releases, including his highly-praised 'Pace City' EP near the start of 2023. But not looking to slow down anytime soon, he is back once again with his latest EP 'Canticles Of Los Angeles', a release brimming with energy and swagger from start to finish.

Continuing to venture down that driven post-punk avenue he has carved out for himself, this new six-track collection instantly feels like his most diverse work to date. Branching out both creatively and instrumentally at every chance, 'Canticles Of Los Angeles' is a rich and groove-filled listen, brimming with a fresh and explorative sensibility we very rarely get to hear these days.

While this new outing flows on confidently from his previous endeavours, it still manages to maintain a unique perspective for itself, creating a joyous and embracing atmosphere throughout. He may still be working the peripheries of the scene right now, but Indiana Bradley is quickly establishing himself as a true visionary on the rise with this new offering.
