Jehnny Beth returns with a searing new single 'Obsession', a visceral dose of spiralling tension and emotional combustion that marks the first taste of her upcoming album 'You Heartbreaker, You'. Co-written and produced with longtime collaborator Johnny Hostile at their 20L07 studio in France, Obsession is a taut, claustrophobic fever dream that moves from whispered intimacy to full-throated chaos without warning.
Driven by primal desire and teetering on the edge of emotional collapse, the track sets the thematic and sonic tone for the entire album. “The lyrics ‘you heartbreaker, you’ gave the title to the album but, more than that, the song gave the album its tone,” Beth explains. She describes the track as a fusion of “Tricky and Jonathan Davis making a song with Adam Jones from Tool”, a perfect encapsulation of its genre-defying intensity.
Accompanied by a striking visual and setting the stage for her upcoming European tour, 'Obsession' is an electrifying glimpse into what promises to be one of Beth’s most unflinching and dynamic records yet.
