Julan Casablancas + The Voidz announce debut album

In what was originally thought to be the next solo record from Julian Casablancas, the Strokes frontman has now unveiled his latest musical project The Voidz as well as details about their forthcoming new album.

The first record 'Tyranny' will be available to buy and download from the 23rd September and already the band have put the pre-order price of the new album at $3.87 (£2.27) on their official website. The other members of the new band include Jeramy Gritter and Amir Yaghmai on guitar, Jeff Kite on keyboards, Jake Bercovici on bass and Alex Carapetis on drums.

Speaking about the new release, Casablancas stated "Tyranny has come in many forms throughout history. Now, the good of business is put above anything else, as corporations have become the new ruling body. Most decisions seem to be made like ones of a medieval king: whatever makes profit while ignoring and repressing the truth about whatever suffering it may cause (like pop music, for that matter)."

'Tyranny' is available to pre-order through his own Cult Records label and you can listen to a small batch of music from the record in the player below.
