Levitating turntable project appears on Kickstarter

In a bid to improve sound quality and innovation in the vinyl market, Slovenian company Mag-Lev Audio have unveiled their design for a new levitating turntable onto Kickstarter and it looks like we may be getting it before this time next year.

Using a mixture of magnetic plates and in-built sensors to regulate the turning of the platen, the company “were able to integrate the uplifting experience of music into the turntable design itself, bringing the feeling of zero gravity into your living room.” Allowing for a smoother transfer of information from the record to the needle.

As it stands, Mag-Lev Audio have nearly completed their target of $300,000, and if they receive the full funding before the end of their campaign on the 21st November, they are planning to make the turntables available for general sale by the end of August 2017.
