Mac DeMarco shares new single 'Phantom'

Mac DeMarco unveils 'Phantom', the final single before the release of his highly anticipated new album 'Guitar', arriving this Friday 22nd August via Mac’s Record Label. Following the meditative 'Holy' and introspective lead single 'Home', 'Phantom' is a warm, wistful ballad laced with melancholy. Backed by stripped-down instrumentation, Mac reflects on love, memory, and longing: “Oh, my love, was it real or just fantasy? / Your phantom sits with me.”

Written and recorded entirely in November 2024 at his home in Los Angeles, 'Guitar' is DeMarco at his most personal; producing, mixing, and capturing every detail himself, save for mastering by David Ives. “I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper,” he shares.
