MS MR - 'How Does It Feel'

5/10

After gaining a cult following since the release of their debut album 'Secondhand Rapture' back in 2013, New York-based electro-pop duo MS MR have been expanding their fanbase ever since, and now this new release looks to become the most high-profile of their career so far. Backed with a number of exciting singles including 'Painted' and 'Criminals', their latest effort 'How Does It Feel' looks to be the record that justifies their ever-growing popularity.

But after a strong start, much of the album does feel a little hard to digest. While the lead single 'Painted' does a stellar job of opening the record, the rest is more underwhelming than what we were expecting. With a synth-pop by numbers approach, the record has great trouble reigniting itself and ends up falling into a forgettable collection of mediocre productions that could for all we know be the same song.

Although it has its highlights, overall it is a bit of a let down, considering what we were expecting. A so-so return from these two that just doesn't hit the spot for us.
