East London-based, Swedish-born artist My Life As A Moth is expanding the world of her debut album 'The Parade of the Starlet & the Broken Hearted' with an Extended Deluxe Edition, alongside new single and video 'Closer To Earth'.
Built around a constantly shifting mix of experimental rock, post-punk, art pop and electronic textures, 'Closer To Earth' is an atmospheric and unpredictable new chapter. The track moves between distorted electronics, processed vocals, live drums and sharp guitar, creating a sense of unease that gradually pulls the listener deeper into its world.
The accompanying video takes a similarly surreal approach, exploring ideas around perception, reality and illusion. Inspired by Plato's Allegory of the Cave, the visual reflects the song's themes of existing between different realities and questioning what is actually real.
My Life As A Moth began as a lockdown project, developing from a single song into an entire artistic universe. Her 12-track album explores difficult personal experiences through symbolism, surrealism and fictional characters, transforming vulnerability into something much more expansive and theatrical.
That attention to world-building extends into the production, with Keir Adamson and Ellie Mason (Voka Gentle) helping create a sound palette from unconventional sources, including everyday objects recorded and transformed into samples.
With the Extended Deluxe Edition, My Life As A Moth continues to build an increasingly distinctive world around her music — strange, intimate and deliberately difficult to pin down.
