PEGGY - 'Dear Reader'

8/10

Over these last few years, Boston’s PEGGY has been on an incredible rise. With a flurry of impactful singles under her belt since she first arrived, many of which racking up millions of streams online, she has been tipped as one of the more exciting names emerging on the new music scene right now. And after plenty of praise and acclaim for her recent outings, she now looks to cement her dynamic legacy of late with her eagerly-awaited debut EP 'Dear Reader', a collection that builds upon that illustrious foundation she has cultivated for herself.

Much like what her tenure has looked to develop since she first emerged, 'Dear Reader' sees her honing more of that anthemic indie-pop aesthetic that has quickly become her calling card. Opening up with the infectious 'FEMININE RAGE', with its anthemic hooks and driven atmosphere, this new six-track collection rarely has a moment to catch a breath. Brimming with tantalising energy that perfectly suits her own progressive approach to pop songwriting, PEGGY is rekindling the enigmatic persona many of her fans love about her and spreading it throughout this dynamic new release.

While she most certainly wears her influences on her sleeves here, 'Dear Reader' still manages to maintain a fresh and distinctive flow to it. Capturing some wonderfully broad and immersive textures from beginning to end, it feels as though this astronomic rise is only just getting started.
