Pink Floyd to release first album in 20 years

Legendary prog-rock outfit Pink Floyd will break their two decade recorded silence later this year with the release of their fifteenth studio album 'The Endless River'.

The new full-length is said to be based around the recording sessions of the band's last album, 1994's 'The Division Bell', and will be the band's first release since the death of keyboardist Rick Wright.

Vocalist Durga McBroom-Hudson, who has been collaborating with the band on the new album, revealed that this new material actually started life as a series of unreleased instrumental tracks called ‘The Big Spliff’, explaining “The recording did start during ‘The Division Bell’ sessions — and yes, it was the side project originally titled ‘The Big Spliff’. It was originally to be a completely instrumental recording, but I came in last December and sang on a few tracks.”

'The Endless River' is expected to receive an October release date through Parlophone Records.
