After returning in recent months to deliver their highly-praised offering 'Close To The Bone' earlier this year, New Zealand-based outfit Silcrow are back to their anthemic ways on the soaring new single 'Keep The Silence'.
Conjuring more of that raw and atmospheric alt-rock sound they are known for, 'Keep The Silence' makes for an incredibly impactful return for the four-piece. Filled with soaring hooks, powerful riffs, and some mesmerising vocals layered throughout, they are proving themselves one of the more exciting and enigmatic names on the rise right now.
Speaking about the new track, they said, “Keep the silence was written just before we entered a very tumultuous period. Dealing with COVID lockdown restrictions in NZ and downsizing to a 4 piece band. Knowing we had this song in our repertoire of new music was part of the glue that kept us together during a time we could have easily fallen apart. The title for the song was taken from a sign outside the our band’s rehearsal space telling us to be quiet as we moved from the entrance to the practice room.”
While the band have been steadily working on new material since the pandemic, 'Keep The Silence' showcases some of their most vibrant work to date. With its fresh and adventurous approach to songwriting, they are certainly a name worth keeping a firm eye on for the future.
