After releasing her critically-acclaimed debut album 'Clean' earlier in the year, Soccer Mommy has now announced her plans for a new 7" single release later in the year.
The new two-track release will include a newly reworked version of 'Henry', a song that originally appeared on her 2016 collection 'For Young Hearts' on Orchid Tapes, with the B-Side a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s 'I’m On Fire', a live show highlight that now finds a studio recording.
“I wanted to make a version of ‘I’m On Fire’ that connected with the sadness of the song,” explains frontwoman Sophie Allison. “I think that doing a more stripped down version allowed me to make something that feels emotionally raw.”
The record is due out on the 5th October via Fat Possum Records, and you can check out the cover of 'I'm On Fire' in the player below.
