Villagers share new single 'Fool'

With their eagerly-awaited new studio album due out later next month, Villagers have now dropped the next cut to be lifted from their forthcoming full-length.

The new single 'Fool' follows on from the previously unveiled lead track 'A Trick Of The Light', is accompanied by a new Bob Gallagher-directed video, and will feature on their fourth studio LP 'The Art Of Pretending To Swim', due out on the 21st September via Domino Recordings.

Speaking about the new video, director Bob Gallagher said, “The video is a surreal take on a marriage proposal, which is the ultimate gambit in love. The scenario pushes how much Conor's character is willing to overlook his partner's shortcomings, and convince himself that everything is fine. You could call it foolishness but you could also consider it a kind of optimism, striving to see the best in a situation.”
