Wesley Black - 'EVERYTHING WILL CRASH AND BURN'

8/10

Ever since he first emerged, Australian artist Wesley Black has been seen as one of the more distinctive names on the rise. With a bold and blistering aesthetic that likes to blend a heady mix of punk and hip-hop influences, he has quickly developed a reputation for unpredictability in recent years. And now after a handful of highly-praised outings so far this year, he returns with his latest EP 'EVERYTHING WILL CRASH AND BURN', a release brimming with fresh and dexterous innovation.

Featuring the three brand new singles 'READY2GO', 'UR NOT MY MOM', and 'I GUESS THAT'S ME', this new collection sees him continue more of that broad and adventurous spirit he has been cultivating of late. Conjuring some fresh and explosive ideas throughout its rather short runtime, 'EVERYTHING WILL CRASH AND BURN' sees him build upon those initial foundations, and deliver one of his most dynamic and barnstorming releases to date.

While only three tracks in length does make it feel a little spritely, especially given how enjoyable and well-paced this new EP is, 'EVERYTHING WILL CRASH AND BURN' manages to pack plenty of punch from start to finish. A raw and raucous return from an artist that seems to be moving from strength to strength right now.
