Wet Leg drop new single 'davina mccall'

With their eagerly awaited second album 'moisturizer' arriving on the 11th July, Wet Leg have shared its third offering, the unexpectedly heartfelt 'davina mccall'. Stripping back their usual snark in favour of sincere devotion, the track finds the Isle of Wight duo in softer territory, blending cheeky pop culture nods (Big Brother, Shakira) with open-hearted affection.

Swapping sardonic one-liners for vulnerability, 'davina mccall' feels like a new chapter for Wet Leg, one where irony gives way to earnestness. “It’s a song about pure, unadulterated devotion,” the band explain, and it shows.

The track’s whimsical stop-motion video, directed by Chris Hopewell, sees the band reimagined as claymation characters on a surreal road trip, chasing down a feather-thieving goblin. The visual nods to previous Wet Leg lore (fans will clock callbacks to 'CPR' and the band’s claymation family portrait), but this time there’s a tenderness underpinning the absurdity.

'davina mccall' follows previous 'moisturizer' singles 'catch these fists' and 'CPR', continuing Wet Leg’s playful, unpredictable evolution. Watch the video for it in the player below.
