Yeasayer - 'Amen & Goodbye'

5/10

Arriving almost four years since the release of their last studio release, New York trio Yeasayer have returned to deliver another slice of their psychedelic indie pop. And with this their first album since signing to Mute Records, the band are certainly trying to make a good impression.

From the first listen, it seems that Yeasayer are having trouble in their creative spells. While it all still sounds like the same old band, that is almost part of the problem. The three-piece seem to have stalled themselves on this latest release and makes for a very so-so listen.

It may not sound like curtains just yet as there is still enough here to give you hope, but the bulk is an underwhelming attempt at best. Very little stays with you after listening as it struggles to make any kind of impact throughout.
