Reading alt-rock duo Lost Velvet have released their latest single 'Burnt', continuing the rollout of their forthcoming debut album, out later this year.
Written and produced by band members Robert Butcher and Melissa Morris, the song presents a more restrained approach compared with the duo’s earlier release 'Dark Cells'. A steady bassline carries the arrangement while layered guitars and intertwined vocals build a reflective atmosphere.
The track explores the emotional moment when a relationship reaches its natural conclusion, focusing on acceptance rather than confrontation. Mixing was handled by Michael Patterson, whose previous work includes projects with Nine Inch Nails and Puscifer, while Maor Appelbaum completed the mastering.
