Astro-Lloyd - 'Let's Get Weird'

8/10

Throughout this past decade, Swedish outfit Astro-Lloyd have earned a strong reputation for bold and energetic offerings. Blending spritely grooves with a cacophonous production as often as possible, their tenure to date has been filled with a vibrant array of belters, all adding to their dynamic legacy over the years. And with last year's studio album 'LOUD NOISES' continuing that explosive nature of theirs, they now look to continue that upward momentum with their latest EP 'Let's Get Weird', a collection of tracks they admit were simply "too good" to feature on their recent LP.

Featuring their stunning comeback single 'Dolph' from earlier this year, 'Let's Get Weird' is a short but still brilliantly impactful release from the five-piece. With each offering its own swaggering entry in their ever-expanding repertoire to date, this new four-track release looks to bring some of their most anthemic offerings to the fold. Brimming with this fresh and explorative aesthetic from start to finish, not to mention some truly awe-inspiring riffs throughout, they return to us with style and finesse at every turn here.

Fans of the group won't be surprised at its sheer tenacity, but those looking to discover a hidden gem can certainly get started with them here. 'Let's Get Weird' is another progressive and forward-thinking effort from Astro-Lloyd, something they could probably do in their sleep at this point.
