Everything Everything - 'Raw Data Feel'

8/10

Throughout their tenure, Everything Everything have stood as one of the most inventive and distinctive names on the scene. With five studio albums arriving since 2010, their broad and unique direction has yet to be replicated in any way as they continue to stand as a towering pillar of vibrant ideals and adventurous aesthetics. And after a heady run of trying new and interesting concepts on recent releases, they are now looking to go one step further with the AI-assisted new full-length 'Raw Data Feel', a record that they claim will herald the future of pop music to come.

With every track they released from this new collection, Everything Everything focused on the fact that all the lyrics from this LP were written by an AI bot. Fed countless random sentences discovered across the internet, the band simply worked them into the lyrics of each of these new offerings. And while that is a fun gimmick to think about, the focus of 'Raw Data Feel' comes from their own expressive approach to production as they continue to find rich and shimmering hooks to flood their newest effort, giving us yet another heady dose of their broad and dynamic direction that rarely finds a moment to falter.

Fans of the band's earlier work will lap this one up as 'Raw Data Feel' comes across as fresh and compelling as their formative material. After more than a decade working within this very specific sound, they are still discovering more ways in which to evolve throughout, creating yet another wildly enjoyable listen.
